Help Our Kids BLOOM in the Arts at da Vinci

Help Support da Vinci's Teachers, Classrooms, Library, and Students! 

This is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. With budget cuts coming, da Vinci's programs are at risk! To fund classrooms and departments at current levels, our fundraising goal is $50,000 this year, which averages out to about $125 per da Vinci family. Any amount helps, anyone can donate (share this with friends, family, neighbors!), and all proceeds go to essential supplies, materials, and programming. Let's invest in education, the arts, and the students of da Vinci middle school, and watch them BLOOM!

This is what buys strings for guitars, reeds for instruments, music for the band and choir, new drum heads and sticks for for African drumming, valve oil, slide grease, guitar cables, picks, and the list goes on and on. To run a successful program we have to have resources, and the PTSA funds make it happen for the music department every year at da Vinci."

"Without PTSA funds, our art programs could not and would not exist at the high quality they do. In Visual Art we have purchased newer oil pastels, acrylic paints, paint brushes, palettes, carving tools, and a range of papers that are specific to each project. In Textiles, the funds purchase embroidery thread, hoops, needles, threaders, yarn for crochet, crochet hooks, yarn, knitting needles, roving for felting, thread for sewing machines, fabric and zippers for sewing projects, warping yarn, yarn and MORE yarn! The PTSA funds buy not just materials but an opportunity for students to learn, grow, and practice persistence through textile and visual art work. Research is showing that now more than ever kids need to engage in creative hand-work to help their brains grow in healthy ways. "I am so thankful for the PTSA and all the support they provide our teachers. This directly impacts the learning experience and outcomes of all students at da Vinci. Given the budget reductions that have befallen building leaders, I too am thankful for the funds allocated to me by the PTSA. Those funds help me support our affinity groups, staff morale, school spirit, special projects and student safety. This year, they also helped fund our testing incentive program and we believe that program had a big impact on the gains we saw at all grade levels in ELA and Math. I am also grateful for the opportunity the PTSA provides me with to stay connected to parents and families. As a non-neighborhood school, these types of partnerships are so helpful in building and maintaining a positive school culture."
