ALL da Vinci classrooms and programs rely on PTSA funding.
Please join us in supporting da Vinci's teachers, classrooms, library, and students! This is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. With budget cuts coming, da Vinci's programs are at risk. To fund classrooms and departments at current levels, we need to raise $100,000 this year, which averages out to about $250 per da Vinci family. Any amount helps, anyone can donate or bid (friends, family, neighbors!), and all proceeds go to essential supplies, materials, and programming. Let's invest in education, the arts, and the students of da Vinci middle school!
HOW TO HELP:

Your donations make the magic of da Vinci possible.
This is what that magic looks like:
Hear what teachers have to say:
"The music department at da Vinci heavily relies on PTSA funds. This is what buys strings for guitars, reeds for instruments, music for the band and choir, new drum heads and sticks for for African drumming, valve oil, slide grease, guitar cables, picks, and the list goes on and on. To run a successful program we have to have resources, and the PTSA funds make it happen for the music department every year at da Vinci. Thank you so much for your support!"
-Mark Gerolami, Music Director
"The PTSA funds make the magic of da Vinci drama possible. This is how we are able to have cross collaboration between the dance and drama department, so our musicals can move us. It allows us to bring in guest artists to inspire. Truly, it provides the flexibility our department needs to dream, create and push the limits of what people think middle schoolers are capable of. We need these funds because without them, we are limited and with them we are limitless."
- Nicole Accuardi, Drama Teacher
"PTSA funds help supply my students with necessary art and learning supplies that allow them to create wonderful multi-sensory projects that celebrate the achievements of our shared human history."
- Jason Gershuny, Social Studies Teacher
"PTSA funds supply both the Visual Art classes and Textiles classes that I teach. Without these funds our program could not and would not exist at the high quality that it does. In Visual Art we have purchased newer oil pastels, acrylic paints, paint brushes, palettes, carving tools, and a range of papers that are specific to each project. In Textiles, the funds purchase embroidery thread, hoops, needles, threaders, yarn for crochet, crochet hooks, yarn, knitting needles, roving for felting, thread for sewing machines, fabric and zippers for sewing projects, warping yarn, yarn and MORE yarn! We use a lot of materials that must be replenished each semester. The PTSA funds buy materials but what it actually funds is an experience for students to learn, grow, and practice persistence through textile and visual art work. Research is showing that now more than ever kids need to engage in creative hand-work to help their brains grow in healthy ways. They need practice at challenging tasks where they are experiencing the discomfort of failure and learn through that failure. I have the privilege of witnessing their growth through this frustration into confidence. Thank you for supporting this learning for all students at da Vinci! We appreciate your donations and support more than you'll ever know!"
- Neressa Bennett, Textile & Visual Art Teacher
"PTSA funds are truly invaluable to our Library. Every year, as we receive less and less support from the district, your generosity becomes even more essential. Thanks to your contributions, we’re able to invest in new books the day they’re released and provide games and puzzles for our popular Lunch Clubs. Last year, we were thrilled to add a much-needed hallway book return, making it easier for students to stay engaged with reading. These funds help us build a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming collection that reflects and supports every student in our community. Your support adds to the magic of what da Vinci means to all of us. Thank you so much for everything you make possible."
- Heather Swinford, Teacher Librarian for da Vinci
"With the availability of PTSA funds, we're able to purchase all the items that are needed to use alongside our curriculum to help keep students engaged."
- Kerry Bayne, Math Teacher
"Without PTSA funds, we would have no tools to be able to build the sets that we use for our shows. No sewing machines, or even needles and thread to alter costumes. We wouldn't have LED colored lights, or wireless microphones. Our talent shows, music concerts, dance showcases, and theatrical productions wouldn't be as technically transformative for our audiences and for our students performers. Huge thanks to the PTSA for all the fundraising they do that supports da Vinci Technical Theatre!"
-Heidi Sprecher, Drama Tech Teacher
"I am so very grateful to the PTSA and their generosity. With these funds, I am able to receive supplies that are important for creating an effective learning environment."
-Alexander Williams, Language Arts Teacher
"Because of PTSA funds, we can publish Dragons' Fire Literary Review, the incredible collection of student writing and art!"
-Emily Conner, AVID and Creative Writing Teacher
"I am so thankful for the PTSA and all the support they provide our teachers. Their support of our teachers directly impacts the learning experience and outcomes of all students at da Vinci. Given the budget reductions that have befallen building leaders, I too am thankful for the funds allocated to me by the PTSA. Those funds help me support our affinity groups, staff morale, school spirit, special projects and student safety. I am also grateful for the opportunity the PTSA provides me with to stay connected to parents and families. As a non-neighborhood school, these types of partnerships are so helpful in building and maintaining a positive school culture."
